Connectivity

Cellular (mobile network)

Ideal for monitoring fewer assets in urban or suburban locations where mobile coverage is strong. Cellular provides fast, reliable data transmission perfect for mobile assets and applications requiring real-time information where speed matters more than connecting numerous devices.

LoRaWAN (Long Range Wireless)

Best for monitoring many assets across dispersed locations without cellular coverage. It avoids per-device SIM costs, making it a cost-efficient option when connecting numerous sensors. Ideal for agriculture, environmental monitoring and rural sites requiring long battery life before needing to be replaced

Satellite

Essential for truly remote locations beyond terrestrial network reach, such as very isolated farmland, wilderness conservation projects, offshore installations. Satellite provides global connectivity where cellular and LoRaWAN aren’t available, ensuring your remote assets stay monitored even in the most inaccessible locations

Integrations with your existing systems

Beyond providing a central dashboard to monitor all your assets, skentel can integrate our platform with your existing operational and business systems.

These integrations automate routine tasks and streamline workflows. For example, sensor readings can feed directly into your operational management system to automatically create maintenance work orders, for e.g., when temperature or humidity levels fall outside acceptable ranges. Similarly, linking to booking systems can trigger automated actions, such as switching off heating when a guest checks out to reduce energy waste without staff intervention.

We currently integrate with the systems shown below, and are actively developing an integration with Snapfix. If your organisation uses a widely-adopted system, we are open to discussing whether integration would be feasible.
